It Is My Opinion

…. What’s Yours?

Search Shortcut

As long as I have been playing around on the internet there is one thing that has always bothered me; having to type http://www.google into my browser addresses bar when I want to lookup some information. So what I found out is that I don’t have to do that … as it turns out, you can typed your full question right into your browser address bar … and then Google will come up with selections you wanted. No Kidding. It works. But it will only bring up Google (see the note below for more details) … so if you prefer to use Yahoo search or one of 1000 different search engines, you still have to type their url into the address bar.

This feature works with Mozilla Firefox, Mozilla, Netscape and Internet Explorer. I haven’t tried it with Opera or any other browsers.

So if you didn’t already know this little trick (I’ve talked to some who do and more that don’t), give it a whirl … you’ll be happily surprised with the result.

Have fun with it … it has certainly made my life easier.

Note: It is worth mentioning that this little trick has been known to bring up ask.com and about.com in some circumstances … it depends on the obscurity of the question you ask.
